Penrhos College Alumni Inc aims to perpetuate school and community spirit among our alumni members. We work to foster alumni interest and goodwill in College affairs by encouraging intellectual, social and emotional ties between Alumni members and Penrhos College. We encourage our alumni to be active College community members and to that end, we host events, connect alumni with each other and current students and provide our alumni with benefits such as bursaries and scholarships which are open to the daughters and granddaughters of members.
Upon graduation, all current Penrhos College students who have attended the College for a period of 12 months or more automatically become financial members of Penrhos College Alumni Inc. Members are entitled to a host of benefits that this membership provides, including:
- Lifetime subscription to The Penrhosian magazine. The Penrhosian is published twice a year and contains College information and latest Alumni news
- Free access to the Penrhos Alumni Online Community. It is a comprehensive and secure social networking site exclusively for Penrhos Alumni
- Subscription to the Alumni eNewsletter, Dragon’s Breath, through MyPenrhos.
- Discounts at various businesses owned by fellow Alumni members
- Exclusive invitations to Alumni events such as our ‘Shakers & Stirrers’ networking evenings and guest speaker events

If you graduated from Penrhos College during or after 1980, and attended the College for 12 months or more, you are most likely a financial member of Penrhos College Alumni Inc. If you graduated before 1980 you may not be a financial member of the Penrhos College Alumni Inc. The Penrhos College Alumni Committee
The work of Penrhos College Alumni is guided by the Penrhos College Alumni Committee. Anyone who is a financial member of the Alumni is eligible to nominate for Committee membership.
Being a member of the Committee can see you guiding Alumni decision-making, planning events, managing the Alumni budget and volunteering your time at various Alumni and College activities. Being a Committee member is a great way to stay involved in College community life and keep in touch with Alumni from all class cohorts. It’s a fun and social activity, with a little work on the side.
The Penrhos College Alumni Committee meets the second Tuesday of every month during College term time, approximately nine times a year. The Committee meets at 6.30pm in the Alumni Boardroom at Penrhos College.

Penrhos College Alumni aims to keep you connected – to each other and the College. One way we achieve this is through our program of special events. We’d love for you to join us so please check out the events below and RSVP to your next Alumni gathering.
Class Reunions are held at regular intervals on the anniversary of graduation – at 5, 10, 20, 25, 30, 40 and 50 years. Class Reunions are dependent upon a Class Coordinator from the year group stepping forward to act as lead liaison for the event (choosing the venue, time of year etc). The Class Coordinator will be fully assisted by the College’s Alumni Relations & Events Officer. Every year the Penrhos College Alumni host the Leavers Reunion, held approximately 18 months after graduation in March. All Leavers should keep their contact details with the College up to date in order to be notified of their reunion.

Our Alumni are a highly valued part of our College community. Many of our Alumni love to volunteer at various College and Alumni events, as a way of giving back to the College that provided them with a sound education and numerous opportunities for life.
Alumni volunteers can participate in events of their choosing. Opportunities to volunteer occur at myriad events including Penrhos College's Year 12 Mother/Daughter Dinner, the Wesley/Penrhos Careers Carousel, guest speaking roles presenting to current students, Alumni High Tea, Alumni Spring Brunch and so on. Volunteering roles vary from sourcing prizes for Alumni raffles to providing careers advice to current students.
Alumni can also register as mentors. As a mentor you will be connected to a current Penrhos College student who is interested in pursuing a career similar to your own. As a mentor you provide as much help and direction to your mentee as you are able. A mentor often provides advice on study paths and career opportunities and may even invite their mentee into the workplace for some "hands on" experience.

Penrhos College offers couples an elegant atmosphere in a one-of-a-kind setting.
The Penrhos College Chapel is surrounded by lush gardens and beautiful Rose Garden. Just outside the Chapel a feature archway, complete with climbing roses (when in season), creates the perfect spot for some gorgeous wedding photos. The Penrhos College Chapel itself offers stunning stained glass windows, an upper gallery for a choir or guests, an abundance of natural light, two wall-mounted flat-screen televisions, and other audio-visual equipment to meet your needs. The Chapel comfortably seats 400 guests and there is also room for musicians.
To be married in a place that offers meaning, intimacy and a sense of the familiar is very appealing. The College Chapel is available for the celebration of marriage to current members of the Penrhos College community and their families, Penrhos College Alumni and their families, staff members and their families or to past students of any other Uniting Church College.
The marriage will normally be celebrated by a Uniting Church Minister; however, if you wish to have a Minister of another denomination conduct the wedding, this can be arranged by negotiation. There are no objections to weddings being held on a week day, but we ask that during school term, they be after 4pm. Arrangements for rehearsals should be confirmed with the Chaplain's Assistant.
A donation of $300.00 is requested (note there is an extra fee for credit card payments), which covers the cost of the Chapel. A further donation of $200.00 will cover the cost of our Chaplain's services. We can provide names of experienced musicians who come well recommended. The cost of the musician/s is separate to the above donations. Alternatively, you are welcome to make your own arrangements.
