SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS FOR 2014 ENTRY HAVE NOW CLOSED.

Each year the College Council, the Penrhos College Foundation and the Penrhos College Alumni Inc. award a number of scholarships.

• Academic Scholarships are available to students entering Years 7, 8, 10 and 11.
• Music Scholarships are available to students entering Years 7-12.
• The Margaret Way Alumni Scholarship is available to the daughter of a financial member of our Alumni to enter Year 7 in 2014.

Academic Entrance Scholarships for 2014 entry

Scholarship examinations for entry into Year 7, Year 8, Year 10 and Year 11 are conducted as part of the Academic Scholarship Cooperative Program.  Applications may be made online by clicking on the appropriate link below.

Scholarships are not full scholarships and would cover up to 50% remission of Academic tuition fees.

For Year 11 entry in 2014

Music Scholarships for 2014 entry

Instrumental/Voice Music Scholarships are available for girls entering Years 7 – 12 in 2014.  These scholarships are awarded on musical excellence.  Applicants must attend an audition and submit a reference from her current music teacher and copies of her two most recent school reports.  Auditions will be held late in March 2013 and applicants will be notified of their audition time and date following the closing date for applications. Please note that late applications will not be accepted for any reason.

Music Scholarship Recipients will be expected to:

• Maintain a high level of achievement in their chosen area of music study
• Take classroom music for the duration of their studies
• Be a member of instrumental/vocal ensemble(s) as appropriate
• Be fully supportive and contribute to the musical life of Penrhos College

Margaret Way Alumni Scholarship

The Margaret Way Alumni Scholarship was introduced in 2010, for students entering Year 7, who are daughters or granddaughters of financial Alumni members, for the remainder of their education at Penrhos College, at 25% remission of the tuition fees.

This scholarship will be awarded on academic merit and selection based on the individual's Academic exam. This is the same exam that Council Scholarship recipients sit.

Scholarship Application Requirements

If you are interested in having your daughter sit the Scholarship Examination for entry into Year 7 or Year 8 in 2014, please register by following the procedure outlined below.

The closing date for registrations is 12 noon on Friday, 22 February 2013.

Details of Testing

The scholarship examination will be held on Saturday, 9 March 2013 at Penrhos College.

Please arrive at 8.40am for an 8.45am start.

The scholarship application fee is $100.00

At Penrhos College we offer a number of academic scholarships for up to 50% remission of Academic Tuition Fees to students entering Year 7, 8, 10 or 11.
The number of recipients varies from year to year and is dependant on scholarship results.

Copies of each applicant’s two most recent school reports are also required and must be forwarded to The Registrar no later than Friday, 22 February 2013.  Applications will not be considered without copies of School Reports being submitted by the closing date.
