2012 WACE results

We extend warm congratulations to the Penrhos College class of 2012 for their excellent Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) results. Here is a snapshot of our achievements:

  • Every Year 12 student achieved Secondary Graduation, hence 100 per cent WACE Graduation
  • 72 of our eligible 141 students gained an ATAR of 90 or better (ie. 51 per cent of Penrhos College students placed within the top 10 per cent of the state)
  • 42 of those students gained an ATAR of 95 or better
  • 12 of those students gained an ATAR of 99 or better
  • Among the top ranked schools in Stage 3 Courses in: Dance, Design, Drama, Economics, French, Geography, Human Biological Sciences, Italian, Literature, Mathematics Specialist, History, Physical Education Studies, Physics, Political and Legal Studies
  • Among the top ranked schools in Stage 2 Courses in: Children, Family and the Community, Food Science and Technology, and Materials, Design and Technology
  • Four girls were awarded a Certificate of Distinction (awarded to the top 0.5 per cent of candidates based on the WACE course score) for their achievement in Biological Sciences, English, Human Biological Science and Literature, respectively
  • Twelve girls were awarded a Certificate of Commendation (awarded to students who achieve at least 20 ‘A’ grades in WACE course units)
  • Number 6 ranking in the Western Australian League Table (WACE Stage 3 course score of 75+)

The Penrhos College staff have worked extremely hard with the girls to help them achieve their potential, through the in-class teaching and learning programs and the extensive after-hours tutoring. We are very proud of our Year 12s of 2012 and all that they accomplished, with the support of their teachers and families.
