Penrhos College is a Uniting Church school, welcoming girls from a wide variety of Christian denominations and other faiths.

We believe that our students thrive and achieve their personal best in an environment in which they feel valued and cared for, where diversity is embraced, where there is respect for difference and acceptance of others. This is the cornerstone of our Uniting Church heritage.

Our commitment to compassionate leadership

Our aim is to develop compassionate young women of integrity, with a rounded appreciation of Christianity and an informed understanding of other cultures and faiths. Our students and staff are encouraged to serve others, both via a range of community service programs and in their everyday life. It is our hope and ambition that our girls will draw on the Penrhos learning experience to go on to use their skills and talents to make a valuable and positive contribution in the world.

Chaplaincy and support

Our Chaplain, Paul Whitfield, joined the Penrhos community in 2022 and is dedicated to providing care and guidance to students, staff, families and past students. He leads our Faith and Values Program and oversees our whole-school worship services.

Chaplain Paul, along with the Chaplain’s Assistant, supports our community with a range of pastoral services, including weddings, baptisms and funerals. They also coordinate the For Others Club, which focuses on social justice, community service and sustainability.

Faith for all

Penrhos welcomes students of all faiths, and those with no specific faith, to explore their personal values and discover the principles that guide them. We encourage everyone to engage in the diverse array of traditions and beliefs that make up our global society, fostering a respectful and inclusive spirit.
