Claire Negus (Hacket, 1995)

Following her graduation from Penrhos in 1995, Claire completed degrees in law and commerce at the University of Western Australia and commenced her working career at Ernst and Young as a Chartered Accountant before moving to Freehills to work as a litigator. 

Claire then moved into management consultancy working at several resources and engineering companies while completing an MBA and a Master in Business Strategy. This led her to take a position at BHP where she established the governance function for their $40b project portfolio, the successful delivery of a $2.2b project, manage BHP’s Project Services globally, before moving to Roy Hill to assist in the delivery of the $11b integrated iron ore, rail and port project as General Manager-Commercial.  During this time Claire has also served on boards and completed professional qualifications at both Stanford University and INSEAD Graduate Business School. In 2016 Claire was presented with the prestigious ‘Women in Resources’ Award by the WA Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
