Personalised learning

Every student is unique and sets her own goals and holds her own aspirations. We personalise the learning journey from the early years of Secondary School, in order to help each student choose subjects and experiences that suit her strengths and future ambitions.

In Years 11 and 12, students can choose from a wide range of ATAR and General courses, as well as Vocational Education and Training (VET) options, including work placements and school-based apprenticeships or traineeships. Our flexible pathways allow each student to design a study plan that prepares her for life beyond school.

Our Learning and Teaching Team work closely with students to ensure they have access to the right courses and levels of support. New programs or partnerships with external training providers may be introduced to meet individual needs. Most of these opportunities are available during school hours, keeping the experience inclusive and accessible.

Learning enhancement

At Penrhos, we are committed to supporting every learner – whether they need targeted assistance, personalised strategies or academic extension. Our specialist Inclusive Education Team works across all year levels to provide individualised support for students with learning challenges, specific needs (including students identified as gifted) or those who may be at educational risk.

We offer English and Mathematics Enhancement classes, a dedicated Gifted Education Program, and in- and out-of-class support to ensure every student can thrive – academically, socially and emotionally – in a nurturing, inclusive environment.

Expert teachers

In the classroom, our expert teachers deliver curriculum and programs that challenge and excite our learners. They are passionate professionals who personalise learning, encourage curiosity and motivate each student to achieve her best. Supported by ongoing professional development and research-based practice, our staff work collaboratively to deliver engaging learning experiences and student opportunities.

We encourage a Growth Mindset and guide students to become confident, independent learners who take ownership of their progress.
