Welcome Back – A Community rooted in inclusion

24 July 2025

by Kalea Haran, College Principal

As we begin Term 3, I want to warmly welcome you and your daughters back to school.

This term promises many moments of connection, challenge and growth. It also brings a renewed opportunity to reflect on the kind of community we are building together.

At Penrhos, we believe in the power of belonging.

Every student is different – in who they are, how they learn and what they bring. Each girl’s identity, culture, story and learning style adds richness to our shared experience.

We are proud to be an inclusive community where diversity is welcomed and celebrated.

Inclusion doesn’t happen by accident.

It is shaped every day through our words, actions and the way we choose to see and support one another. Whether in the classroom, on the field or in the corridors, we all have a part to play in making this a safe and respectful place where every student feels they truly belong.

Penrhos has a strong vision: to revolutionise girls’ education so we can all live a future without boundaries.

With our students at the centre of everything we do, we are preparing them to shape the future with courage, curiosity and confidence. Our five strategic pillars – Embrace, Create, Soar, Blaze and Impact – guide this journey and reflect the community we aspire to be.

Later this term, we will celebrate NAIDOC Week and the theme The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy. This is a powerful alignment with our belief in our BLAZE pillar: to be brave, lead with love, act with integrity and engage with passion.

I am so happy to be the Principal of a school where no girl feels limited by expectation, and where kindness, inclusion and shared purpose light the way forward.

As we look ahead, I encourage every student and family to embrace the opportunities this term brings and hope it is filled with growth, inspiration and joy.
