Term 2 Sport Wrap-Up

What a massive and successful Term 2 it has been for Penrhos Sport!
From state-level competitions to IGSSA fixtures and JIGSSA carnivals, our students have once again demonstrated exceptional commitment, effort and teamwork across a wide range of sports.
SSWA Cross Country
Our secondary school cross country team took on the challenge of wet and wintery conditions at Yokine Reserve for the annual School Sport WA competition. With over 250–300 students per age group from across WA, our girls competed with determination and heart.
Special congratulations to:
- Grace Richter – 4th place in the 14 years category
- Saoirse Fowler – 7th place out of 235 runners in the same event
- Naomi Meuleman – 12th in the U15 age group
A huge shoutout to all team members who achieved personal bests and represented Penrhos proudly in our cross-country competition this year. Thank you to our wonderful coaches for preparing the team so well in the lead-up to IGSSA.

IGSSA Netball & Hockey
We were proud to unveil our stunning new netball uniforms for our Senior and Junior A teams this term.
Netball Highlights:
- Senior A team finished 4th
- 7/8 A and Junior A teams both finished 4th overall
Hockey Highlights:
- 7/8 B team finished 3rd
IGSSA Rowing – Head of the River
Our rowers finished Term 2 on a high at the Head of the River on Saturday, 21 June, with Penrhos placing an impressive 4th overall!
Standout crews included:
- Senior D coxed quad
- Freshman B & D coxed eights
- Year 9 C & D coxed quads
- Year 10 B coxed quad
A big thank you to Friends of Sport for supporting our rowing and cross-country teams with fantastic team breakfasts prior to the carnivals.
Year 3–6 Winter Games Series
Across the junior years, the Winter Games delivered a great balance of fun, skill development and teamwork:
Year 3 – Rotations through rugby, basketball, gymnastics, spikezone, netball and hockey
Year 4 – Skill-based clinics in AFL, netball and soccer
Year 6 – A competitive Winter Games Carnival after weeks of training, featuring soccer, hockey, netball and basketball.
A big congratulations to our Year 6 hockey team for taking out the pennant win!
Years 7–12 Athletics Carnival
Congratulations to Troy House for taking out the win this year!
