Term 3 Sport Wrap-Up

26 September 2025

by Brenton Mizen, Head of Sport

What an incredible Term 3 it has been at Penrhos! With huge participation numbers, outstanding results, and countless personal bests, we couldn’t be prouder of the way our students have represented the College on and off the field.

Volleyball WA Schools Cup

Congratulations to our Volleyballers who recently competed in the 2025 WA Volleyball Schools Cup!

Over 100 Penrhos athletes took part across four huge days against more than 50 schools from across WA. The standard was extremely high and we’re proud of the way every team showed improvement throughout the tournament.

The competition was capped off with a Silver medal for our Open Honours girls, who went down to long-time rivals Rossmoyne in a thrilling grand final. Congratulations to Rossy on the win and an even bigger well done to our girls for their outstanding performance and for being such inspiring role models for our younger players.

A special mention goes to our Year 12s, who played their final WA Schools Cup this year. Many began their journey as Year 6s and have proudly represented Penrhos every year since, what an incredible legacy to leave behind.

Thank you to our coaches, staff, and of course our parents, for the time, energy and support that made this campaign possible.

JIGSSA Cross Country

It was wonderful to see our younger athletes out on course for the JIGSSA Cross Country Carnival, followed by the Junior School Athletics Carnival last Friday.

There were smiles all round, plenty of cheering, and so many personal improvements – proof of the hard work our students have been putting in.

A special congratulations to Stella, who won the Year 3 Cross Country and helped her team secure 3rd place overall – what a fantastic achievement!

Junior School Interhouse Athletics Carnival

Our Junior School Interhouse Athletics Carnival was a fantastic day of competition, team spirit, and community.

Congratulations to Athens House, who took out the overall win this year!

IGSSA Athletics

The IGSSA Athletics Carnival once again showcased the depth of talent at Penrhos. From sprints and middle-distance to jumps and throws, it was fantastic to celebrate so many personal bests and strong performances.

Congratulations to all our Year 7–12 athletes who competed with such determination and spirit – we are so proud of you.
